Le Petit Chaperon Rouge (Little Red Riding Hood)

With this piece meant for every­one includ­ing young­er spec­tat­ors, Sylvain Huc goes back to the roots of the tale Little Red Rid­ing Hood (Le Petit Chap­er­on Rouge, in French), whose ambi­gu­ities he embraces in a play­ful and cath­artic phys­ic­al encounter.

The wolf (in jog­ging pants and a black hood­ie) and the girl (in a red hood­ie) play cat and mouse on a bare stage, lit only by neon lights placed on the floor. In this ima­gin­ary forest, Con­stant Dour­ville and Elena Sevilla – at the heart of this reprise of a piece cre­ated in 2011 – engage in an intim­ate phys­ic­al dia­logue where fear and attrac­tion coex­ist, faith­ful to the ori­gin­al tur­moil of the tale. Con­vinced that a show for chil­dren should be not just dar­ing but also polit­ic­al and defy all forms of con­form­ism, cho­reo­graph­er Sylvain Huc offers a sen­su­al and tur­bu­lent ver­sion that pro­vokes both fear and pleas­ure. By explor­ing the full depth of human rela­tion­ships, the cho­reo­graphy of his Little Red Rid­ing Hood probes the depths of fear in order to bet­ter defuse it.

Syl­vain Huc a éga­le­ment été sélec­tion­né par le réseau euro­péen Aero­waves pour l’édition 2019 du fes­ti­val. La com­pa­gnie Syl­vain Huc est conven­tion­née par le Minis­tère de la Cul­ture / DRAC Occi­ta­nie. Elle est asso­ciée à la ville de Tour­ne­feuille depuis jan­vier 2020.
