“Conversations” with the Musée des Beaux-arts de Caen: “What immobility does to us” ?

Interdisciplinary projects

The Musée des Beaux-Arts’ exhibition on the figure of Medusa from Ancient Greece to our contemporary period (May 13- September 17, 2023), is accompanied by three Conversations which offer thinkers and artists the possibility to talk about the main themes that are connected to the myth and which continue to raise questions nowadays.

Alban Richard is invited by the Museum to have a conversation with philosopher Jérôme Lèbre on the theme
#2 What immobility does to us
What if the Gorgon’s capacity to turn men to stone could lead us to reflect on the emancipatory strength of immobility, when it allows thoughts to be in the world, and gives meaning to what we do? Can it be seen as a well of possibilities?
