The Loss of Your Embrace

Per­formed to a nos­tal­gic but elec­tron­ic soundtrack, The Loss of your Embrace takes the fig­ure of the embrace as a cho­reo­graph­ic motif. Two people hug­ging, fond­ling, embra­cing, kiss­ing, entwin­ing, car­ry­ing, hold­ing and bear­ing each oth­er. When con­fron­ted with loss or rup­ture, how can we vital­ise the absence of the oth­er person’s body? From a ghost imprint how can we con­sider the void as a cre­at­ive place of self-renew­al? The young dan­cers of COLINE school respond to these ques­tions avidly and energetically.

    "Un régal, prolongé par la création de The Loss of your Embrace, d'Alban Richard. Le directeur du CCN de Caen, a contrario des déplacements toniques et millimétrés de Bagouet, a offert aux treize danseurs un canevas reposant sur de somptueux ralentis, gorgés de références à l'étreinte, heureuse ou funeste.
    Soutenue par une partition islandaise mélancolique, la danse atteint au divin quand une transe en accéléré s'empare du collectif. Magique !"
